The incognito version removes any mention of Self-Harm, so it instead just looks like regular art supplies to others. It will be called an "Aromatherapy Paintbrush" and is described to be a sensory stimulation tool to use for painting, while having a calming essential oil smell, as well as a plastic dragging bit for creating calming scraping sensations on canvases.
Self-Harm can be an extremely sensitive or touchy topic, and occasionally can even be dangerous to communicate about within certain households, especially those underage. The Recovery Pens were made to safely cover every aspect of self-cutting in order to wean people off of self-cutting altogether. The tool uses principles such as: Harm reduction, desensitization, aromatherapy, and kinesthetic & visual swish pattern (NLP), offering a multifaceted approach to behavior modification.
Through the use of different colored inks and essential oils, coupled with the experience of the tool itself, these pens provide both visual and kinesthetic substitutes for self-cutting behaviors, complemented by the additional component of aromatherapy.
Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic benefit. When inhaled, the scent molecules directly affect the emotional center of the brain. This can help ground yourself, and is commonly used to treat anxiety and panic attacks.
The underlying mechanism involves rewiring neural pathways within the brain. The Recovery Pen's purpose is to introduce a new positive association with the urge to self-harm. Over time, your brain will start linking the feeling of wanting to self-harm with the Recovery Pen. This is a crucial aid in keeping the user safe.
Over time, individuals progress through different levels of Recovery Pens, ultimately reaching a point where self-cutting tendencies are hardly present. Eventually it will no longer be considered true self harming; marking a significant milestone in their recovery journey.
As individuals transition to higher leveled pens, their brains adapt, forming new, healthier connections. The ultimate goal is to dissociate the impulse to self-harm from the act itself, achieving long-term recovery and well-being.

The goal is to slowly wean down to a higher level. The higher the level, the closer you are to Recovery!

What's the difference between incognito and regular?
The incognito version removes any mention of Self-harm, so it instead just looks like regular art supplies to other people. But comes with no instructions or tips.
Whereas when ordered regularly, it will come with instructions, and mentions of how it helps with your Self-harm and tips!
Is this safe to be used in the bath?
Yes, all ingredients are skin safe and will do no harm. The only issue you need to watch out for is if either: You have an allergy to one of the ingredients listed, OR if the ink is used over sensitive areas as in: open wounds, eyes, genitals, etc. Please do not do this!
How long is shipping time?
Please expect possible delays in shipping. Once your order is PROCESSED (see above question) the shipping time varies heavily depending on your location, and the shipping option you choose.

• Harm Reduction is approved and often recommended by professionals, but everyone's mental health is different! For a select few, my recovery pen's may not help to recover from Self-Cutting. For certain individuals who have an 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 or in some cases of BPD, you may begin to form a worsened addiction.
• Even the addiction is now linked with the use of Recovery pen, rather than the true act of self-cutting, some individuals may not want this. The overall goal is to gravitate towards using the pen rather than the real thing, but some individuals may want to stay away from addictive or impulsive thoughts altogether.
• The Recovery Pen cannot help with stopping the thought process, desire or reasoning behind self-cutting. It is meant to be used as a harm reduction and safe alternative.
What is negative or triggering for some may not be for others, but please stop and seek help if 𝙖𝙣𝙮 negative impactions or feelings surface during use!
• We highly recommend that you take the Recovery Pen Type Quiz, OR consulting a health care professional before purchasing.
• The oils are diluted more with a carrier oil. Still, beware If you have sensitive skin. Some essential oils may irritate the skin.
• Do not use if you have serious medical conditions/ allergies. The oil is also NOT meant for ingestion! KEEP AWAY FROM EYES OR OPEN WOUNDS.

This little pen has definitely been a lifesaver!!! I’ve had it for a little while now and it has helped me a ton! Using the pen has a similar enough sensation to the actual thing and it’s helped me from having multiple relapses. I would highly recommend trying this pen of you’re struggle to quit!

The only downside to this is that it took a while to get here, but once it did, it was worth it 100% It mimics the feeling in a safe way that satisfies the urge so that you can be on your way to recovery

the product is good, however the oil doesn’t burn that much at level four compared to just going to the store and buying peppermint oil. however after i added extra peppermint oil in the ink it was a lot better. every other aspect was wonderful.

The item is really nice and I really hope it works for some people, I bought if for my boyfriend and he doesn't like it as he says it doesn't feel like anything, no burn, no nothing, it is just a pepermint smelling red liquid, like I said I really hope it works for some people but it didn't help my boyfriend at all

here’s a review from my partner who i bought the pen for: the package smelled sooo good 🥺 and it comes in a convenient fancy lil case with a note on instructions on the pen and further info about the harm reduction. the pen itself came in pristine condition with no leakage or anything! even without having put the ink inside, i feel like its going to help me a lot.

I’ve been struggling with SH for 5 years and I’ve tried everything but this pen gives me the things I wanted the most when harming myself, it gives me the pain and the blood without it opening my skin or leaving scars. So if your struggling to get clean I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this product!
